More “Summer of Lebron” Speculating

Michael Arace of the Columbus Dispatch sees two potential scenarios unfolding during the “Summer of Lebron.” He either stays in Cleveland or he jumps to New Jersey.

Calling one of Lebron’s other potential suitors, the New York Knicks “mismanaged and malodorous,” Arace adds that the Nets have the benefit of minority owner and rapper Jay-Z to help lure James while also having the cap space to potentially add another superstar, like Chris Bosh.

Personally, I’m just relieved to read some sports commentary from outside the Big Apple that acknowledges some reasons why Lebron isn’t going to automatically gravitate towards the Knicks if he spurns the Cavs next year. The Knicks haven’t been relevant in more than a decade and if the Nets could establish any sort of stability with the Brooklyn/New Jersey situation in the coming year, I think they have as much of a shot, if not more, to land Lebron instead of the Knicks.

lease stop saying that LBJ will choke, nobody has a clue what this team will do till it is on the Court, so I'd say wait till then.

I can't believe I forgot about Yi too. Thanks for pointing that out Manuel. I think LeBron's chances of coming here are about 5% if we move to Brooklyn. If we are staying in Jersey,

and if Yi can give us anything positive thats another talent on our team. But honestly i never belive the fact that Lebron is leaving cleveland. he got the three year contract so that he could put pressure on management to improve the the cavaliers into a championship contender not to become a free agent and leave. and all this friends with jay z and wearing the yankee hats stuff is just keeping the pressure on cleveland to improve the players around him.

I think the Nets do have the talent. CDR is going to have a breakout year. Brook is great. C. Lee broke out during the playoffs last year (ask LeBron about the d he played on him), and T-will is the truth.

This team is solid.

I'd be shocked if Lebron became a Net.

I don't believe they are moving to Brooklyn. Ratner will not be able to finance the building after this calendar year when all his options dry up.

Also, if they do end breaking ground in Brooklyn, the Nets still don't have enough talent to lure him to Brooklyn. They need one more player that's in the tier just below him. The decline in the economy impacts the cap space, and there won't be enough cap space to sign that player. Bosh also does not fit into that category.

I know this sounds negative.
