Expiring contracts are real valuable, especially with the financial crunch that is going on, and I think if Rod can get someone who can help us in the future with one or more of those expiring contracts he will do it. If not, we will use that money in Free Agency…

i wanted to know what you thought of which one of our veterans do you think might get traded during the season alston/simmons/battie/najera/hassell or do the Nets just go about the season quietly and let the expiring contracts expire?

Dennis and Mark, that does make sense, but I don’t see a lottery pick being placed on IR (Has that ever happened to a healthy lottery pick?).

Dennis, I agree with you, but I think CDR had such a strong summer league and a strong Las Vegas camp, I see him playing his way to a starting job in the preseason.

Hope I am wrong but I see Hayes getting the starting SF spot to start the season.

I think TWil and CDR will force Frank to give them more minutes but you might see 2 separate teams of 3 (Harris and Lopez will get their 35 min a game) splitting equal time on the floor this year till the cream rises to the top.

Good stuff Sebastian. I just get a sense that Nets fans might be disappointed by how TWill will intiailly fit into this team’s rotation. Frank’s hand seemed forced by Brook’s play last year, but it’s no secret that he rarely gives rookies minutes. Simmons still is getting a lot of money and Hassell is still considered a good defender. I can’t see them starting the season on IR with TWill and even CDR getting the nod ahead of them. Hope I’m wrong.
