Super John Williamson was definitiely an all-time great Net: Robin to Doctor J's Batman on two ABA title teams. (check out his role in winning the final ABA title: http://tinyurl.com/yfh62nw). He was selected as the # 1 shooting guard in Nets history in 2003 by Basketball Digest & in 2007 by Pro Basketball News.

I think Kittles is a terrific candidate to have his number retired; really nice article. And to coolnet who commented on the article, I definitely agree Mike Gminski is another terrific candidate. The others...not so much, though mayyyybe Birdsong and Dawkins, but it would be hard to convince me. Both had more notable careers for other teams (Birdsong with the Kings; Dawkins with the 76ers) and didn't offer anything remarkable to the Nets. Gill and King are utterly forgettable. Gminski however spent a large portion of his career there and helped give the Nets their identity.

And again, nice article and nice job proposing an underrated player who is deserving of the honor.
