I will take the blame for Harris’s subpar season. I picked him for my fantasy team which has been a disappointment all the way through.

If we get Wall, Devo is gone. If we “only” get Favors or Motiejunas he’ll probably stay. I don’t think how he does the remainder of the year matters all that much– if he does well we’ll be more likely to want to keep him; worse and we won’t get much for him.

Regardless of stats, Kiki needs to get Devin to be more assertive. I understand we have a lot of scoring talents (especially in the starting 5) but Devin needs to open everything up for everyone else.
He seems to defer a lot in the beginning of games, which I think is a big mistake. He’s no Lebron or Kobe who can get his 20-25 points whenever he wants. He can’t try to get everyone else going (except for Brook) then try to get himself in the game. He’s not talented enough. We need him constantly in attack mode. We saw what Devin could do when he has the green light. That wasn’t simply because of Vince Carter’s presence. I hope he becomes more assertive and takes more of these marquee PG match ups personally. He’s a scoring PG, he needs to start scoring. It’ll open everything up and make the pick and roll so much more dangerous.

DH and Wall are the same style and size pg.
CDR seems more of a keeper than DH right now, especially since he makes less than 1 million and can make a jump shot(unlike DH)
Big guards would eat them up and then you still have Lee Twill and CDR to find time for.
Lee needs to grab some pine.
TWill needs more floor time
CDR needs time at SG.
All this talk could be moot if the new owner doesn’t want to go young.

I think a Harris-Wall backcourt would be pretty nice. Both Harris and Wall aren’t exactly tiny so the size issue isn’t that bad. They both could play the point or shooting guard so they could complement each other.

But we should be wary about hoping for Wall, we’re likely to end up with the worst record overall, which means our chances of actually getting the number one pick is astronomically low; it just doesn’t happen.

Derrick Favors anyone?

There’s talk that Wall and Devin could play together in a starting rotation if they got him in the draft. Both are kinda “combo guards” though Wall is more of a pure point.

Now the next issue is, if you got Wall, and looked to trade Devin, you’re selling low at this point, unless Harris has a fantastic second half. My long-term strategy would be if the Nets end up with Wall, hopefully they can a scorer or two via FA this summer and between Wall and the new acquisitions, you hope Devin regains his 2008-09 form – THEN you look to trade him.
