Another issue in two articles they were syaing today that Devin hadn't trying to score like last year and that he'd banged up and was finally getting healthy. Kiki and Devin and the beat writers implied he might start getting back to his form from last year now. Yi's emergence is great and all but if Devin does start playing like last year he is the best player on the team and needs to get his shot attempts.

Good point about CDR coming off the bench. I agreed with u guys in the beginning of the season about this mostly because the second unit just has no playmakers, no one who can got make a shot for themselves when they need it. Let Devin and Brook facilitate shots for guys who actually can't get those open looks by themselves (like Hassell). If CDR makes a stink about coming off the bench then maybe he's not the type of player the nets should want. The 6th man role has become such a huge commodity in the game today that it should not be looked to as a demotion. Guys like Ginobli, Gordon, Odom, Terry have made the 6th man a marquee role. It doesn't matter who starts the game in today's NBA it's who ends the game that matters

Benchin CDR is not the answer.
Getting a real coach is the answer.
What about CLee's ineptitude?
Lee gets lost on offense, actually disapears on offense.
CDR worked his butt off the earn a starting spot.
Lee didn't. He cried about going to NJ.
So why should Lee be rewarded with a starting spot?
For the same reason Yi gets a starting spot.
They are KiKis pets.
KiKi has to make these 2 players look good, so the trades he made look successfull.
The offense changed when Yi came back.
That's the #1 reason for this teams failures.
When Yi was out, Boone was getting open looks.
When Yi came back for the Knicks game he made the open shot Boone couldn't.
But KiKi changed the offense right after that game.
Instead of using the plays that were almost working with Yi replacing Boone, KiKi changed the whole offense to go to Yi.
So now this young team has to change offenses for the 3rd time!
KiKi is not worried about winning.
I appreciate your analysis and hard work but why penalize a player that worked his butt off and reward the player that is regressing (Lee)
Remember last year in Orl.
Lee was on the bench until pietrus got hurt.
Lee became a starter because he didn't need to score, just play D
CDR was an all american on a Final Four team!
Who deserves to grab some pine?
Courtney Lee

CDR's been pretty good this season out of position which is why he might not like going to the bench. Of course juse because he's a better scorer/ probably player doesn't mean he should start. While he's earned it if the shots aren't in the starting line up for CDR maybe he should move to the bench and keep C Lee starting. Let see what team do something likes this, well Dalas + Jason Terry and Denver with JR Smith are to imeadiate examples of guys that can score 20 a game coming of the bench and both these teams put good defenders in their place not sure who either team are starting at the two now because both of the player they used last season have left but both teams do this. Results? Jason Terry won sixth man of the year JR Smith was a finalist. SA also do with this with Manu a lot I beleive and I'm sure plenty of other teams to as well. Another advantage of CDR moving to the bench is that he goes back to his real position the 2 and when he's being guarded by 2's his style and lanky frame will be a nightmare for a lot of defenders.

As for putting Hassell in the lineup not a terible idea esp as he can be sort of effective early in game in offense but while the shots may not be there neither is the shooting threat to stretch the defense, so another alternative would be to start Jarvis Hayes as was the small the original plan, he an ok defender and can actually shoot the ball so he's might be a good fit in the lineup even if he doesn't get a lot of attempts.

Personally I think CDR could also start at 2 and move C Lee to the bench. Again CDR will have an easier time scoring at his proper position. And they make sure they both enough minutes by moving CDR to the 3 and playing C lee at the 2 when Yi is out of the game and theres enough shots to go around. (That way C Lee wouldn't just be only the floor when CDR was on teh bench.

Regardless of whether CDR starts or not I think right now he should move to the two and the best option to start at SF is Jarvis Hayes since he can shoot and his actually a small forward. I dunno about Lee anymore I liked the idea of him starting with CDR at the start of the season but he's been pretty bad most of the time so not sure if he deserves to start any longer.

I personally think that CDR is underated from playing out of position. I prefer him starting at 2 with CLee of bench, simply because CDR can score against starting talent, CLee can't but could dominate benchers. Put twill at 3 when matchups work and run a fast break offense so everyone gets shot attempts and Yi/BLo get better looks at offensive boards and putbacks. When FB gets stopped have Yi stop at key for open kickout. Guys need shots, shots increase energy, confidence and belief in system. We have the opposite because we use our 7-footers as "post players", and they're not good at it so it ends up a bad shot or turnover. They make it easy for teams to go huge runs.

This team's greatest need is still coaching. I like Kiki as GM and believe he's a better judge of talent than Thorn. The lack of good coaching has really hurt this team ever since Byron was fired. That's what Kiki meant when he said they need a guy who knows X's and O's. Please sedate me until that happens because my eyes hurt watching this squad under-perform.

I don't know if CDR's ego can take it initially. He is not gonna like that suggestion even though it's probably the correct one
