If TWill has his head on straight, he has the capacity to become an extremely valuable player on a very good team. He's a gifted passer and a very strong rebounder. Kid can't shoot, at least not yet, and so he'll need to get his points attacking the rim, in transition, and on the glass in the flow of the game, but when he's doing that, he's already a big asset.

Hf he doesn't have his head on straight, he'll join a long line of underachieving NBA players with tons of talent who just never really get it.

We shall see.

Mike, my issues with TWill had more to do with character and focus - he clearly has a ton of talent, but he was going about it all wrong. I know the Nets are a bad team, but he as a rookie, he should be playing like he has something to prove, not like he knows everything he needs to know beforehand. The fact that Thorn essentially threatened TWill with a D-League demotion shows that the braintrust agrees here. Maybe "useless" was a strong word, but a month ago, he wasn't playing the way he is now, and the first few weeks of the season.

I don't see why you would've completely lost hope in TWill. Every time he gets minutes, he puts up numbers (4 double-doubles as a rookie in the 1st month of the season isn't bad). Yeah, earlier in the season he was making rookie mistakes (too many jumpers, careless turnovers) but that's no reason to call him useless.

I think it is time to put Humphries in the starting lineup. The Nets need to win games and he is exactly what they need right now - toughness, defense, and rebounding. Yi does not provide any of those things. He can come off the bench to put some points up, but it's more important right now to win some games than to "develop" Yi (in his what 4th season?). I would also say bench Courtney Lee because he doesn't really do much of anything out there and doesn't warrant a starting position, but that might be a little drastic.

He and Spanarkel are tops. We're very fortunate to have them.
