Quick Recap: Philadelphia Sixers 83, New Jersey Nets 79

The Nets lost another close game with the Philadelphia Sixers, falling 83-79 at the Izod Center tonight.

  • The Nets controlled the game for most of the first half, but Philly was able to capitalize on a 12-point third quarter by New Jersey. After two missed FTs by Elton Brand, the Nets still couldn’t get a good shot up to tie, as Jarvis Hayes forced a three that missed by a mile.
  • The Nets struggled greatly in the transition game, getting outscored 25-2 on the fast break.
  • Besides his last three attempt, Hayes probably had his best game of the season, scoring 18 points on 4-8 from three.
  • Fighting stomach issues, Brook Lopez had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
  • Yi Jianlian had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
  • The Sixers only shot 36.5 percent from the field and 62.1 percent from the FT line, but they did a better job controlling the ball than the Nets, only committing 12 turnovers.
  • Terrence Williams played some critical minutes down the stretch, and grabbed 11 rebounds.
  • Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 14 points.

CDR was having a breakout year before Kiki took over for whatever reason he's not anymore. I feel bad for him, I hope he gets a better chance than tonight I felt like he could have had a good night.

In effect, Kiki HAS moved CDR to the bench. CDR played 14 minutes in the whole game tonite. And no plays were run for CDR; while many plays were run for Jarvis, as CDR's sub. To Jarvis' credit, he capitalized on many of them.

Tonite, CDR played only 8 mins. in the first quarter (with a 3-ptr, 1 reb, 1 ast, 1 blk), to be benched for ALL of the 2d qtr and return to play only 6 mins in the 3d qtr. before being benched for the rest of the game!

CDR has become a starter in name only. In effect, he's given less opportunity to play than the bench players (who have yet to even contribute to the team).

It's pretty clear. CDR is not wanted by the Nets, for whatever Kiki's reasons, and he is being treated shamefully. If he isn't demoralized by now, he's really the strong young man he says he is.

Worse yet, Nets fans presume CDR is refusing to play at his max skills. What a terrible misrepresentation of the kind of player CDR has always been! His effort has been sabotaged and undermined. It's downright criminal what Kiki has done to this young man's promising career.

Yi had 15 points and 12 rebounds, you got it backwards :(

KIKI , IF YOUR SEEING THIS

PLEASE MOVE TWILL INTO THE 3 SPOT AND MOVE CDR TO THE BENCH

CDR COULD HELP US BY BEATING UP ON OPPONENTS BENCH PLAYERS RATHER THAN STARTERS,

HE CLEARLY DOESNT WANT TO PLAY ANYMORE!!

Is the 24 second shot clock the Nets' new enemy? Two games, two close losses, two shot clock violations down the stretch

Trackbacks
