Nets on the Net: 2/23/10 Edition

And we’re back….

The story of the day out of Nets practice yesterday was Brook Lopez and his lack of touches in the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. In the Star-Ledger, Kiki Vandeweghe explains: “Defenses aren’t stupid,’’ coach/GM Kiki Vandeweghe said when asked why Lopez seems to have so many hot starts/cold finishes. “They’re going to load everyone around him and when he catches they’re running guys at him.

Lopez, sounding a little more frustrated than usual, told Al Iannazzone: “I just think when a player’s playing well, when a player’s hot, we need to get that guy the ball,” Lopez said after practice Monday. “But we just need to play team basketball.”

Fred Keber says: Brook Lopez may have to go a little Norman Bates if the Nets are going to avoid the infamy of the worst record in NBA history.

Over at Slippery When Nets, Rory equates Chase and Michelle Branch with losing.

Kiki is a moron. Every other team in the league comes to a game with the Nets knowing that Lopez is our #1 offensive threat. Or does he think that none of them can read a stat line or watch a game tape?

The Izod Center is horribly bad. No joke, the last 2 games I went to there were moths flying around our seat. How is it possible that they have an insect problem?

Kiki said defenses aren't stupid when they load up on Brook Lopez, well how do you go about changing your offense to throw the defense off balance? How do you make the defense pay?I know kiki, you don't have a clue do you? This league is about making ajustments, changing defensive and offensive schemes, when something is not working the coach has the responsibility to change it,the nets lose almost the same every time. The first thing i would do is make a change in the starting line up,i would start Kris Humphries over Yi,that way you change your rotation by having kris play with brook most of the time, and have Yi play with josh boone so he can get more opportunities with the second unit, even though i do not think Yi is going to ever be a good player in this league,i do think his best chance to make it would be to come off the bench,if he stays in the starting lineup,he will continue to get abuse, and lose what little confidence he still has left, the handwriting is on the wall Kiki!I AM GIVING YOU FREE ADVICE,IF YOU FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT YOU WILL LOOK LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
