Quick Recap: New Jersey Nets 127 – Chicago Bulls 116

Neither team wanted to win this one, but alas there can’t be any ties in basketball, so they kept playing…and kept playing until the Nets pulled away from the Bulls in double overtime to get the 127-116 win.

  • T-Will picked up his first career triple double going for 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.  He actually needed that one assist from the final 3 minutes of regulation on, but he didn’t get it until the final seconds of the second OT.
  • Down 2 with only a couple seconds left, everyone thought the Nets were going to go for the three and the win.  However, Courtney Lee attacked the basket, forced rotation, and Brook Lopez ended up with a tip-in dunk at the buzzer.
  • This little stretch of league pass games makes me oh so grateful for the announcing crew we have when we watch Nets games.  The Bulls’ announcers were terrible tonight, and Stacey King (their color man) even went so far to pretend to gag as the Nets missed a few free-throws.  Really unprofessional, and in the end he ends up looking silly as the Bulls’ choked multiple times late.
  • Brook Lopez has the tip I mentioned before, and he finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
  • Courtney Lee played well also.  He scored 16 points, but the biggest moment might have came where he stopped Derrick Rose on an ISO with 12 seconds left.  With no help.
  • The Nets outscored Chicago by 20 in the paint, by 10 in transition, and by 5 at the foul line.  There is your game right there.

Thank god for league pass! Twill was amazing, those Bulls announcers complained about every call (and now Sheridan wrote an article about the calls on ESPN)...seriously so lame. The Nets got screwed over a couple times too. Remember the start of the first overtime when Brad Miller got the extension called on an "and 1", that was ridiculous and i thought almost cost us the game. Good for the Nets.

TWill for PG!
TWill took too many shots but he could be an NBA PG next year.
CLee is becoming a keeper. The Nets will need a knockdown shooter

AMAZING game and I couldn't even watch because of YES. Wish I could have seen Twill's performance..this kid is a STUD! Sorry Bulls..maybe next time!

agreed on the announcers being awful me and brother were telling eachother the same things you guys are discussing...

Yankees get crushed and te nets win in double OT it's like the twilight zone

I saw most of the second half but closed the window in the first overtime( DAMN), but chitowns announcers are idiots.
Favorite part was the chocking comment, wonder how he feels now.
Congrats twill, long overdue

NETS AND METS WIN

Unfortunately, most teams don't get the voice of NBC Sports and one of the best guys on TNT as one half of its announcing crew.

One would hope the new management could give these guys a little more excitement to work with, they are All-Stars of Broadcasting.

Funny as bad as their announcers are their still better than most lol. We definitely have the best announcers, the choking thing was ridiculous. At least they see what they see in T-will.

Horrid broadcasting by the Chicago announcers. I mean we are pretty lucky to have guys like Marv Albert, Ian Eagle, and Mike Fratello - but they were just obnoxious!

This isn't just hearing guys rooting for a team other than yours, this is just plain idiocy.

At least they are full. They had to eat all the words they dished out tonight.

Couldn't agree with you more in terms of the announcers. It was like they were bulls message board users the way they complained about everything and bashed the nets constantly in the process.

I'm glad CLee came up big, but in the parts of the game I watched (mostly 4th quarter) Rose ran around him like he was a traffic cone.

Yeah, the Bulls announcers are shockingly bush. I'm surprised that Stacey King even got hired-- for toughness, he makes Yi look like Ray Nitschke. Not a well-loved Bull.

"The Nets outscored New Jersey"

sorry to be the buzzkill, but that makes no sense to someone who didn't watch the game (which is my own fault, but still)

You're not a buzzkill Paolo, I am just a dummy. Supposed to read Chicago...mistake fixed, and thanks for pointing it out!

On the Bulls' announcers: just classless. Awful. Ian Eagle and Jimmy Spanarkel are light-years ahead of them. Just mocking the Nets all game. Even said the game was over with 4 minutes left in OT after the Bulls had a 5 point lead. His words were something along the lines of "The Nets are going to lose, they just don't know how yet." And of course, the gagging issue when Harris missed a couple free throws. It makes me sick that people like him have jobs and there are kids out there who put in the time learning how to be good on-air talent and can't find a job. Horrendous.

Great game for the Nets. Ugly, slow, whatever. A win is great, period. Loved TWill's triple-double, even if the 10th assist took 10 minutes and a full court pass to Lopez. Great to see the Nets having fun, especially after Lopez's tip-dunk at the buzzer.

I totally agree, the Chicago announcers made me so angry, they know nothing about the nets and spend the entire game badmouthing them. I wanted the nets to win 5x more than usual today because of their announcing.
What a wonderful game to watch, shame on Yes for not broadcasting this.
