Great breakdown. I am really excited about the idea of brook having a rebouding pf next year so he can run a little more also I totally agree with you about his emotions they only affected him negatively this year, and the refs got sick of it. He sometimes would be so mad about a call he thought he shouldve gotten on offense that he would get back late on the next defensive play and commit a stupid foul out of spite. I really hope it is just a product of frustration about this year though.

First off Brook's turnovers stemmed mainly from Offensive fouls, and losing the ball when he was trying to force. I still think he is a good passer. ALso if we get amare stoudamire next year, amare can do the running and brook can just focus on rebounding. I think brook is a good rebounder, and the fact that he ran out in transition was probably by Kiki's design. Amare is faster than brook so ya.

Anyways i really like Brook. I think his post up play has improved leaps and bounds from last year. I love his free throw shooting, that will really help him once he continues to improve at posting up. His jumpshot is pretty good, but a little inconsistent. I like that ability of his. I think Brook is a good shot block. He looked tired alot this year on defense and his blocking too a hit this year. Brook needs to add muscle and work on defense. but i think he is really exciting and will be great for us.

Brook likely will have a rebounding power forward next season, and so will be able to get out in transition at less cost. I agree, I think that this part of his game is a big advantage for him.

His whole game, more than anyone else's, is going to benefit from an upgrade in talent around him.

as great as his transition is, i would much prefer brook to stay down and get defensive rebounds. that is a huge weakness for him. a center who has yi as their power forward should easily be able to average 10+ boards a game. The team has enough players that are capable of running (harris, williams, lee, even yi), but no rebounders (until williams came on late in the season). As a starting center with an invisible power forward, he needs to do much better glass work.

And can you really be happy with Brook's passing if he has a less than 1 to 1 A/TO ratio. He has a long way to go there if you ask me

Great breakdown Brook is an exciting part of the of the future. He's made great progress and I think its to say he's on of the best centers in the nba. Getting close to top 5 in my opinion but I'd have to have a real think about it. He gets a total pass on emotion from me for this year though theres nothing wrong with intensity I guess centers don't want to get on a ref's bad side what with the foul trouble that often comes with the position. I disagree with DJ, Brook was also making some real nice hand offs and chemistrey with C Lee for a while though and I noly remember it getting use after Kiki took over meaning after CDR stopped putting up 20 point games. Its true the play was used less in the last month or so as far as I remember.

Nice breakdown. Brook has come a long way in a short time and will be even better next year.
Brook needs to improve on reading the double teams.
There were many times where the double would come and he would turn into the double team and the baseline would be wide open.
Brook has to me more selfish. He looked too eager to make the bounce pass on the baseline. Brook needs to make that a handoff to cut down the turn overs or fake the handoff, wait for the cutter to clear the lane then take the shot. Some times the cutters man will double Brook after the cut and that was where other Nets got easy shot.
The key to this play is timing. CDR and Brook were in sync for awhile but when CDR was benched that play disapeared.
I can't wait for Brook to have a real coach

I half disagree with Brook's emotion being a negative. Though I can see your point, its that anger and emotion that has cause so many superstars in this league to succeed. Think how well players like Shaq, MJ, or Kobe play when they get angry. Now I don't think Brook is that level, but that fire and emotion I saw as a good thing most of the time. He just needs to learn to now bite his jersey and act like he is going to rip it open Hulk Hogan style like he has a couple times this year.
