That Vince Carter sure wasn’t a star type player outside of the states at all lol. Excellent post though, very cool to look back at what happened with this pick in the past.

yeah, a veteran, or a good restricted FA. Just not an Antonio McDyess type player, a la the Knicks.

@Scrapin240 Thanks for reading. If by “known, good quantity” you mean a veteran player, well, it better be a solid one with minimum risk (not injury-prone, large enough sample size of work, not a locker room virus, etc.). If you meant trading up to take a John Wall or Evan Turner, I wouldn’t mind, but who/what else do you trade to move up?

There is hope out there, but i am still for trading this pick for a known, good quantity. not like the ex #21…made me want to throw up whenever i looked at the salaries.

but i have faith in Rod and hopefully we’ll get a great player or 3, somehow.

@Shea Thanks for the compliment, man. Yeah, I agree about Favors at this point.

@Adam Yeah, there’s a lot of time from now until June 24th and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the Nets somehow move up and get the first pick, however, Ted Leonsis is on record saying that he won’t trade the pick. We’ll see.

@Malcolm I meant more in the context of the comparisons to Bird when Morrison was coming out of college. My bad.

@njnetsjay CDR is a restricted free agent and most teams don’t even bother offering anything to a player because most feel the incumbent team usually matches any offer. However, I don’t know if the Nets would do that, depending on who they select in the draft.

@Rich I actually like the fact that Favors has the physical tools, coachability, and high ceiling. Plus, I think he just complements Brook Lopez better.

Nets fans, you will like Favors…the only reason you didn’t hear about him is that he didn’t have ANY guards on that GT team to get him the ball. Cousins has a lot of baggage…maturity issues. Go Favors.
