Daily Link: One More Time (for today), Favors or Cousins

In case you haven’t heard, the Nets have some tough choices to make regarding their #3 draft pick on Thursday night. Mainly do they take a project in Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors, or do they go for the more established, yet questionable, talent in DeMarcus Cousins? A workout today at the PNY Center in New Jersey, should hypothetically answer some of these questions for Rod Thorn and the braintrust.

Turner would be awesome. T Williams will be very good, and we could maybe add a healthy Tyson Chandler up front. Or, heck, maybe we insert Kirilenko while we continue to rebuild with lottery picks.

But in the more likely event that we get Favors, we will be in the top of the draft again next summer which is fine. Favors is young and smart enough and AJ is the right coach to make sure he develops at both ends of the floor... can you imagine if Amare came into the league under Greg Popovich? He'd be un-friggin-believable if he'd become a 2-way player, he'd be hands down the best big man in the game today. I don't think we should trade this pick for anything short of a top 5 PG, and that ain't gonna happen... But eventually we will be able to get Rubio away from that POS franchise Minnesota, that David Kahn doesn't get that proves he's a flaming idiot.

How big are DC and DF's hands? Wasn't that Kwame's supposed issue, like the guy in the Burger King commercials.

The Wizards and Sixers are great examples of teams that I would not want to emulate. That is why they will pass on Cousins. Maybe the Sixers will be smart enough to draft Cousins, yes before Turner or Favors, but I would not count on it. Why? Because they are the Sixers! And we are the Nets, so I would not be surprised if the Nets screw up the pick and draft Turner or Favors before Cousins. Teams who are scared and lack imagination usually ended up losers. If John Wall was not so charismatic he might not of gone #1. Cousins has the most talent and best chance of being an impact player then Wall, Favors, Turner etc,. and I'm not the only one saying it.

Favors is no Kwame Brown. His effort, athleticism, and attitude couldn't be better. Perfect fit to what we're trying to do. The fact that he may also be able to play center makes him fit into our front court rotation even better by backing up either the FA PF or Brook. In 3 years, IMO he'll end up somewhere between Dwight Howard and Al Hortford.

@mike Why don't the Wizards take Cousins then if he's the best player? Why don't the sixers? Why don't we just trade Brook to the wizards for the 1st pick so we can nab Cousins since Cousins is already better than Brook right?

Why would you want Turner for. To backup Courtney Lee? Cousins is the best player available, hopefully, when we get to pick, no matter if Favors or Turner are still there. Why not pick him. Oh, I forgot, we have Brook "All World" Lopez. We need a caddy for Brook. LOL

Lets hope we nab Evar Turner somehow wouldn't that be great.

As long as we don't draft Cousins I will be happy. Why draft the best player in this years draft? We are the Nets aren't we? Always doomed to be second best. Afraid to go after the best player unless they are handed to us like Kidd, Carter and even Brook. Lets draft Favors and regret it for years to come. That's the Nets and their fans destiny anyway. Beautiful losers...
