NetsAreScorching And The Draft Tonight

We here at NetsAreScorching are going to be covering the draft a few different ways tonight.  Most importantly, we are going to be at the draft as a credentialed member of the media, as Dennis Velasco will be at the draft doing his thing.  Look for some stuff from him tomorrow.  The rest of us will be participating in a Nets oriented live-chat here on NetsAreScorching.  The draft will start at 7, so make sure you check it out. Also, Devin Kharpertian will be meeting Derrick Favors for a media-day thing in New York today before the draft, so expect something from Devin on him before the draft tonight.

We aren’t done yet.  If you want a more NBA-themed draft chat, well we got you covered.  Over at ESPN there will be a Daily Dime Live tonight, and I will be heading there during the Nets picks to discuss their picks.  So if you want to follow the Nets and their draft, NetsAreScorching.com is the place to be.

Also, I did a little something for Dime on the Nets and the draft.  You can find it here.

NETS NEED TO GET AMARE AND RUDY GAY AND ANOTHER SHOOTER

@ Mike

Sorry for the triple post. But seriously Brook has never done a hard foul. His temper is sometimes a problem, what about last year in the VC reunion game when he just whacked Dwight Howard a possesion after disagreeing with a foul call. Dwight's probably the most imposing guy in the league so if he'll foul him hard you can say the same for anything. And about crying, all the best players show emotion because they actually care. Including some of the toughest players in the league. Check out Paul Pierce sobbing after losing in the finals last year. Brook is a better player than DC, simple.

Mike was talking to himself when he said at me. lol

I get exhausted just reading Mike's commentary.

Final remarks for today.
"All right, stop cheering"
-------------------------
The Nets are a soft team. They have been since K-Mart left. Even Kidd admitted it. We need to get tougher and I don't see Favors or Johnson making us so. One guy would though.
---------------------------
Hope everybody ends up happy tonight. Good luck... Lets go Nets....

P.S. Plus tough players don't look like they are going to cry when things don't go their way. Brook and Favors are still kids of course but I don't see personality's change that much in my experience with people. Either your tough or not. Nothing wrong with not being a tough guy. I just like to have at least one though on my team.

@Sebastian; I have to admit I haven't seen much of Favors but from what I have read he sounds like he is not aggressive and doesn't go strong against guys his size or bigger. I have watched almost every game Brook has played as a pro and I yet to see him give a hard foul. The NBA is a physically tough league and I love Brook but he is not a tough player in the traditional sense. In other words, opposition players don't fear attacking the basket with him there.

Wow.. I just figured out why the Nets want to draft Favors. With Lopez and Favors, Yi has a role on this team as "enforcer". I can see opposing teams shaking in their boots having to go up against this power trio. Yormark's new marketing slogan... "Come see our family friendly NY/NJ Nets, they're as soft as a baby's behind".

You calling Favors and Brook soft? What have you seen that made you make that statement...besides them not being DeMarcus Cousins?

@Me;
Because of the rude tone of your remarks I will not take part in tonight's live discussion. So there... No... I won't change my mind.

Only the Nets could have a top three draft pick and have nobody they want to pick. Thorn should of been relieved of his duties and Kiki should be running the show. I guess the Russian hasn't figured this one out yet. He will...

any chance NETS trade the pick?

Thanks for letting the NAS peeps know we have the draft covered, Sebastian! Not exactly sure what I'll have for you all, but it'll be something... :)

cool idea NAS. wow does that not violate the commenting constitution? lmao

"MIKE" will you stfu with your negativity? the nets are in the best position they have ever been and ill hear from you is nonsense just shut up with the bs already

As long as its not Wes Johnson, it won't be a total disaster.

Live chat is just what I need for tonight. Thanks, NAS team!

Sounds like we maybe waiting another month or so to see how everything shakes out. I was looking forward to draft night but if recent news is correct the player we draft tonight might not be with us in a few weeks. And the beat goes on. And they wonder why there are so few Nets fans. Answer = Not many Nets fans survive into middle age.

NAS had great coverage this week. Exciting time to be a Nets fan- an arena that is truly near and accessible to people in the Metro Area (mass transportation is the name of the game), a Top 3 draft choice, a bunch of cap space (Lebron's not coming.. right??????), and a new owner who won't be cheap (you can only spend so much money.. but you at least have to spend some).

Not sure Favors/Cousins/Johnson are the answers, (though Cousins seems like a beast).. but here's a thought..

The NJ Nets have never had home-court advantage. They flat out don't know what it means. This year they will experience it for the first time, and no matter who they draft, this team is going to be unrecognizably improved.
