@Sam- The fact that the Cavs did not win the championship was not Lebrons fault. With the team that was put around him, he had to have a great game every night. I agree that if he piggybacks on another star's team (like perhaps Miami) his legacy would take a big hit. However, i'm pretty sure lebron would rather go somewhere and win a couple of rings and take a hit to his legacy, than stay with Cleveland and most likely win at the most 1 ring. As far as the Nets are concerned, I think that the Nets have a better chance of landing Lebron than a lot of people saying. The fact that the Nets already have a young core that can win now, without having to sign another big name free agent (although that would be nice), gives them an edge over some teams. Also, if Lebron comes to NJ, it will be HIS team. When he wins a championship, he can say he carried the Nets there, not with the help of Wade or Bosh

Just got back from NYC. Saw the billboard. Still unfinished, but GIANT. & impressive. I have little doubt that the thing is going to look gorgeous when it's finally completed.

Pictures were taken - will try to have those uploaded ASAP.

The Brooklyn LeBrons.

The reason the Cleveland Cavaliers didn't win the championship this year was because Lebron James hurt his elbow. If Lebron leaves the Cavaliers, he takes a big hit in respectability in my book, no matter what his aspirations might be. It was on him that they couldn't go to the Finals, something the franchise and the city NEEDS (tourism), and so he should come back and play until he wins.

When he's done in 3 years, he can leave happily and play in Brooklyn with his great friend Jay cheering him on from the side lines in a high-class arena in one of the 5 NYC boroughs.

With that said, he's coming to NJ. We've got Brook Lopez, Devin Harris, Terrence Williams, 3 dynamics. Does Chicago even have two? We've got an arena that's accessible to over 8 million people, a big time network that has the brand power of the New York Yankees behind it, a billionaire owner, a winning coach with a proven acumen for defense, and of course cap space!

:D let's hope!

Have to disagree with you, James. I can't say >90% of Nets fans would have a hard time with Lebron in our unis.

I know Bosh has been touted as one of the key guys to go after for the Nets, but given that a S&T seems likely, what would we have to give up in return? There aren't many guys on the roster right now. I could be wrong, but I think we'll be hard pressed to hold onto guys like Favors or perhaps Harris...

I hope we get a couple stars. To be honest I really dont want Lebron. I know how good he is but I just dont like his game style. All he does is bark at the refs and then when he gets an injury (like his elbow he tries to show others bad it is by shooting with one hand). I also think it would be terrible to get Allen. As people said in the Allen post, there are plenty of guys who can shoot the 3 that arent 34.

OMG OMG! ITS HERE....I kind of feel...like I did yesterday

Hey so reports on ESPN said that the Raptors has a S&T list possibilities for Bosh. If NJ was on that list, what would be giving up for the sign and trade?

i really hope everything goes as planned tonight, lets get sum free agent stars!!!!!!!!!!!

Did Lebron even opt out. Can we get a list on here of who will officially be free agents after 12:01

Thank you

Lif lebron is leaving Cleveland I'd say new jersey is his only other possible destination

First! Oh, sorry. I'm "that guy." Seriously, I'm looking forward to a lot of rumors turning more into truths as the week goes along... remember, contracts can't be official until July 8th, with the salary cap for the upcoming season being announced on July 7th.

I'd really love it if LeBron stayed on with Cleveland (if he doesn't end up on the Nets) and I hear that the Byron Scott seeming hire will be influential in that happening. In any case, knowing the Knicks didn't get him will make me laugh for about a week straight... yeah, Knicks fans are getting to me.
