Daily Link: Patience is Key for ‘Melo

The Examiner’s Gregory Hrinya discusses recent rumors involving the Nets and Carmelo Anthony and advises GM Billy King not to blink first in a potential deal, especially if it involves Brook Lopez:

The Nets have the assets and the location to lure Anthony. The pieces are in place to make a deal happen without giving up Lopez.

Billy King needs to avoid the panic button. Patience is the better part of valor here.

Denver will realize that New Jersey has the best package to offer, it just might take a little time while Ujiri tries to hold one team hostage.

Agreed. NAS will discuss potential packages for ‘Melo later this week, but Hrinya makes a great point and being patient.

I wanna hear ricardo's scenario.

Manuel has the best offer, but i thought i read that murphy cant be traded. TWill, picks, murphy, james.... Those are some good assets for them to rebuild. Outlaw will need a new home too. I really like this team as it is.... Every position gives me hope right now... Just proves that Melo must be special.

King should know that no other team on his list has the players to get him besides the Nets. Any other team like the Wolves will only trade players to have him for a year when he will leave and sign with one of the teams on his list. If Nets get him they can do a sign and trade. So Nets can wait this out.

I hope we are all right. I dont want the desperation of not getting a superstar this summer lead us to do something stupid.

If i was the nets i would look for another team to make this a 3way deal which means sending: Harris,James,T.will and draft picks for Melo. We'll get a true point guard next year with either cp3 or d.williams

hbj725- that shouldnt even be a question IMO of course we cant trade Lopez for Melo

i would be willing to give up:

t will
D james
Murphy
2 first round picks (ours not golden states)

thats my Max offer

T will cuz they need a young player they can develop at the wing with melo leaving and J.r. prb leavin also

D james for more youth at the wings

murphy cuz hes expiring, makes the salaries work out, and they need a Pf with the birdman and K mart out

first round picks cuz well u need to add picks. lol

our team would be

Harris/Farmar
Morrow/ Outlaw/ Ross
Melo/ Outlaw/ Ross
favors/ Hump/ may
Brook/Petro/ Zoubek

Ya deff no lopez. I saw twill, James and 2 first rounders( then make the salaries match up. Or favors pretty much straight up would be my max offers

We cannot, definetly, give up brook. Troy Murphy, T. Williams and a couple of Draft picks (1st & 2nd Nets draft picks for next year). Denver need a SF and a PF with all injuries they have at PF. Next year with this trade Nets are noy planning go High in Draft. That been said, we have the scenario ready to go for Chris Paul also and truly be a contender. Go King!!

we can not give up lopez for melo... period.
