Did you hear the Nets signed a new SF in the off-season? He may not be the King or ‘Melo, but Travis Outlaw does have a reputation for some 4th quarter heroics. The new Net has posted some video of himself working out on YouTube (hat tip NetsDaily). Why don’t you give it a look?
I think we will all be surprised by Travis Outlaw. Everyone is overpaid nowadays, so I don't mind the signing. He doesn't mind taking the last shot, which is a nice change from last years team.
No one cares about Travis Outlaw. They badly overpaid for a guy best suited to come off the bench. Nets fans are just not going to get excited about this guy and with his contract he is probably untradeable. They panicked and signed him when they didnt get a marquee name.
Outlaw was a long time target of Thorn. He loved him. Did we overpay to get him? Yep. Is it going to hamstring the team? NO.. It's slighly worse than a mid level exception... Not like we gave the guy max money. He'll be serviceable. Probably worth 3-4 million a year but not the 7 we doled out. But whatever.. Even with his contract it's not goign to stop us from being players in trades.
