Contest Update: We Are Still Taking Entries

Guys, Tony has already got a ton of e-mails, but he is looking for some more to give away the tickets.  So remember e-mail Tony @ Tony.Maglio@NetsAreScorching.com with a question for his mailbag coming this Monday.  The best questions will be picked and if you are one of them you get two tickets to the Nets-Pacers game on Friday.

Fan On The Couch Ticket Giveaway – 10 Winners

Tony Maglio been blessing us with his great comedy for a couple weeks, now, he is going to bless you guys with something else.  Tony has offered up 20 lower level tickets (that’s all we know about them right now), and all you have to do is e-mail him a question for his upcoming Fan On The Couch mailbag that he will have this week.

Your questions don’t have to be about Nets’ basketball either.  It could be sports related, entertainment, politics, whatever and if your question is one of the 10 Tony picks, you win two tickets to see the Nets play the Pacers Friday.  Also make sure you include your name and your phone number in the e-mail, so Tony can notify Will-Call of who will be picking up the tickets.  The winners will be e-mailed at 2, and we will have a post announcing the winners.  Remember Mark’s Tony’s e-mail is Tony.Maglio@NetsAreScorching.com.  Good luck guys, and a big thanks goes out to Tony for offering these tickets up.

More Trivia!

With another game at the Prudential Center coming up tomorrow, we have another 4 tickets to the game against the Knicks that we will be giving away today.  Same rules apply as last time, the first person to e-mail us the correct answer over to contests@netsarescorching.com wins 2 tickets.  To be fair, the two winners from last time won’t be eligible to win again this time.  Later in the day we will be running another question.  For now, here is question number 1:

What New Jersey Net replaced Karl Malone, on the 2003 American Olympic Qualifying Team?

Have at it guys, and from what last winners told us these are pretty good seats.  So use that for some motivation.

Contest 2 Winner!

Just wanted to thank all of you for entering the contest and submitting the answer, and I can honestly say that I was blown away by the number of responses…I didn’t realize we had that many readers…anyway, the winner of the contest is Ralph Nasar. He gets two tickets to the Nets game vs. the Celtics at The Rock. Congrats man, and for those who didn’t win, we will be doing this on the 20th, before the Nets next game in Newark so pay attention…

UPDATE: The answer was Keith Van Horn, but you all know that…

Quiz Time Part 2!

Earlier today we had a little trivia contest for 2 tickets to the Nets game at the Prudential Center vs. the Celtics tomorrow night.  The winner was Dennis Mortensen Jr., who was the first one to e-mail the correct answer of Buck Williams.  Congrats Dennis!  We got two more tickets to give away for tomorrow, so here goes nothing.  Remember, e-mail the answers to contests@netsarescorching.com:

Which former Net was acquired in the 2008 Jason Kidd/Devin Harris trade?

Good luck everyone!

CONTEST! Nets Trivia

Alright, Mark alluded to it yesterday, and here it is.  We got our hands on 4 tickets to tomorrow’s Nets vs. Celtics game at the Prudential Center, and we are going to be giving them out to you, the reader.  So here is how it is going to work, we are going to ask a Nets trivia question here, and the first one to e-mail the correct answer to contests@netsarescorching.com gets two tickets to tomorrow night’s game.  Here we go:

Who was the last Nets number to be retired?

Alright.  Remember, don’t answer the question in the comments.  E-mail the answer to contests@netsarescorching.com.  You will get an e-mail back from me if you won.  Good luck!

P.S.  We are going to be doing another question at some point today, so keep checking back here.

Win Free Tickets!!!

NetsAreScorching will be giving away free tickets to the Nets-Celtics preseason game Tuesday night at the Prudential Center in Newark. Throughout the day tomorrow, we will be posting two trivia questions. The first lucky fan to e-mail us with the correct answer, will get themselves some free tickets. Stay tuned tomorrow for the questions, since we’re not telling when the questions will be posted (aren’t we sneaky like that?).

NetsAreScorching Contest: Regular Season Pick ‘Em

Alright.  With the schedule now out everyone wants to predict how many wins the Nets will get (I am working on a game by game prediction that should be out tomorrow or Monday), so I am giving everyone a chance to make their own predictions…with a tiny twist…Along with picking a win or a loss, contestants will have to select the margin of victory as well (The Nets will win/lose by this much).

Scoring will go like this pick the game correctly you get 20 points (A wrong selection will get you -5 points).  Get the margin of victory correct, and that is another 10 points.  Get it wrong though, and you lose how many points you were off.  Now that may sound confusing, but here is an example.  Lets say you think the Nets will win by 6 and they end up winning by 11, your point total for that will be 15 (20 points for the win, -5 for the margin of victory).

So what are you guys playing for?  Well, one lucky winner will get a authentic Nets jersey of the player of their choice.  To enter, just download the Excel template here, fill it out and e-mail it to contests@netsarescorching.com with the subject “Pick Em Entry”

You have until the first game of the season and can resubmit your entries however many times you like (the final entry is the one I will use), just title the e-mail Pick Em Entry Correction #1 (or whatever number it is).  I will involve myself with this contest as well, but I won’t be eligible for a prize (so when I win, the second place finisher will win the jersey).

If you have any questions about the contest, just leave them in the comments.  Good luck fellas!
