Some Nets’ Stuff On ESPN.com

I was asked to participate in the summer forecast that ESPN has been running, and I voted in all of the categories.  In addition, I was asked to write a little something about their turnaround.  You can find it here.  Mark and I should both have something up over there tomorrow, so be sure to check it out!

Listen To Me On “At The Buzzer”

Yesterday I recorded an interview with Brian Doolittle, the man who runs the radio show At The Buzzer.  We covered a number of things the Nets draft, the CDR trade, and of course free agency.  While it is a St. Louis radio station, you can still listen to it online here.  The show starts at 6.

Daily Link: Nets Still Angling for Chris Paul

According to Mitch Lawrence and the Daily News, the Nets are still trying to trade for New Orleans Hornets’ PG Chris Paul, apparently offering Devin Harris and the #3 pick in the draft to make it happen. But with a new coach coming in and NOLA trying to turn over a new leaf, they reportedly are not interested in trading their lone box office draw in Paul:

“We are not going to move him,” said one team official Monday. “He’s our foundation and is not exactly ‘touchable.’”

I think given all of the Avery Johnson/Devin talk that’s transpired since Johnson has come aboard, it would be interesting to see the Nets just turn around and trade for Paul. It’s the kind of move this team hasn’t made since Kidd for Marbury.

Also, our boy Sebastian is going to be appearing on The Basketball Jones mock draft, streaming live at noon today. Good luck Sebastian. We’re all counting on you.

Update:

Here is the link for the post.  Check in around 12.

NAS on the Daily Dime

For those of you that aren’t already checking ESPN’s NBA page every day (who are you? Why aren’t you checking?), I’ve made a cameo over there to discuss whether or not I think the Nets are going to reach 10 wins. After staring at the remaining schedule for about 3 hours and thinking long and hard about how Wednesday night played out in Philly, many of you are probably not going to like my answers. Still, you should check it out and yell at me over here.

You Should Probably Check This Out

I don’t really like to toot my own horn…ok, that’s a lie…I love to toot my own horn.  Which is why I am posting about the new basketball blog that I started, NBAPlaybook.com.  This is a NBA blog that I started that will focus more on the Xs and Os of the game, which is why I think that it will be unique.

There is a lot of stuff over there that you might be familiar with, because in all honesty, it is the same kind of stuff I do here, just with the whole NBA in mind instead of just focusing on the Nets.  I’d really appreciate it if you took the time out to check it out, and if you like it, add it to your RSS reader.

One final note, this isn’t going to take away from my posting here.  I am doing this new blog because I have a fair amount of free time (being unemployed helps with that), so I don’t see the new site taking away from the time I have to focus on NetsAreScorching.  I have already told Mark to kick my ass if I fall behind in my duties here, so that won’t be a problem.

Again, NBAPlaybook.com!

Check Me Out Over @ The Daily Dime

I was once again asked to do something on Yi for ESPN’s Daily Dime.  Here is a small excerpt:

When Yi Jianlian put up 22 points and 8 rebounds in his return from a sprained right knee against Minnesota on Dec. 23, I was excited. However, that excitement quickly turned into trepidation. Yi has had performances like this in the past, the problem is that he hasn’t been able to do it night in and night out. Even though it is a small sample size, the past three games are starting to ease my worries, because he is now showing that he can perform on a consistent basis.

You can see the rest of it by clicking the link above…

Check Me Out Over At The Daily Dime

If you guys don’t include ESPN’s Daily Dime as part of your morning basketball intake you need to start.  It has got everything you need to recap the previous night’s action in the NBA.  It has stats, articles from ESPN.com and TrueHoop Network writers, and a chat recap.

I was allowed to do some stuff for them today, so head on over there:

You can find some Nets related stuff at #1 and #7.  I wrote about what I want the Nets to get for Christmas and Yi’s return.

Losing Has Its Rewards

Well, for bloggers at least.  Here is an e-mail that popped up in my inbox today:

“Guys – everyday on SportsNation we name a site we like as our site of the day, and in lieu of the Nets history-making game last night, you’re our big winner.  Feel free to tell your readers.  We’re on at 4pm ET on ESPN2 today.  And Michelle Beadle said she watched the whole game last night and sends her condolences.

Associate Producer, SportsNation”

So yeah, go watch it!

Listen To Me On WHEN

Yeah, that’s right, I am going to be on WHEN Syracuse yet again (around 3:45), so if you are in the area, tune in.  I believe they also stream it online, so if you are around a computer with speakers, check it out.

Listen To Me On WHEN Syracuse

I will be on Sports Radio 620 WHEN in Syracuse today around 3:45.  I will be talking about the Nets winless start, their outlook going forward, that night’s game with Philadelphia, and I might even touch on some Atlantic Division stuff, not sure though.

I don’t know how many readers we have from Syracuse, but if you get that station check it out.  I do believe they stream as well, but I am not positive.

WHEN

If anything it should be interesting.  Check it out if you can!
